The RADAR group is an excellent example of one of the best fusion bands known all over the world.
Radar is one of the leading jazz-rock bands in Estonia in the mid-80s. Although the ensemble was experiencing several rebirths, contradicting each other, the band really competed with various jazz collectives in Estonia. Despite the controversy over the genre, the musicians of the presented incarnations of Radar have a high quality performance. The level of playing corresponds to many fusion teams widely known in the world, such as Vital Information or the Bill Bruford group.
Radar released the next LP vinyl BALTIC COAST in 1987 at the All-Union Company (c) Melody. The drummer Paap Kõlar (Psycho) provided more than a backdrop for accompaniment to other ensemble instruments.
The leader of the group, keyboardist Sergei Pedersen created a multi-stage polyphony of keyboards.
Raivo Narits played on several synthesizers.
Valery Belinov - on the guitar.
Paul Kikerpou produced an active bass sound.
From the track "Viraaz" we see how Kikerpuu changed the sound of the band with bass. Kikerpuu launches an aggressive slap, corresponding to the guitar funk of Valery Belinov, who was the best jazz guitarist of Latvia of that period. Another highlight of this album is "SUN KICK", which shows the corporate style of the composition and playing of Valery Belinov
